During discussions with Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Wang highlighted the need for both nations to enhance high-level exchanges and expand collaboration across various sectors, including trade, media, cultural, and people-to-people exchanges. Wang urged closer coordination between China and India concerning regional and international affairs. He advocated for joint efforts to promote multipolarity and to represent the interests of developing countries on the global stage. Additionally, Wang reaffirmed China’s support for India’s role in hosting this year’s BRICS summit, calling for increased collaboration within the expanded BRICS framework.
Indian External Affairs Minister Jaishankar echoed the commitment to fostering a positive and cooperative relationship with China. He reiterated India’s longstanding positions on sensitive issues, specifically concerning Taiwan and Xizang (Tibet), affirming India’s respect for China’s sovereignty.
