Nishikant Dubey, a member of parliament from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), addressed the ongoing concerns regarding the NEET-UG paper leak on Thursday, urging students not to use the incident as a scapegoat for underperformance. Dubey emphasized that aspiring professionals, whether in medicine, engineering, or civil services, must rely on education and merit to achieve success.
The government has taken a firm stand against those implicated in the exam leak, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi advocating for stringent penalties. Modi has insisted that the 13 individuals arrested in relation to the leak should be subject to expedited proceedings in fast-track courts, underscoring that those who jeopardize students’ futures will face severe consequences.
Despite the government’s actions, protests continue to mount, with demonstrators demanding more accountability and calling for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The protesters have also announced plans for peaceful demonstrations across the country to voice their grievances over the NEET paper leak.
In response to the unrest, Union ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh have expressed the government’s willingness to engage in dialogue with the protestors. They have invited those concerned to meet them either at their official offices or residences to discuss the issues at hand.
While the government has shown openness to discussions, the protests highlight ongoing dissatisfaction and demand for transparency and accountability in the examination process. The situation continues to evolve as demonstrators push for justice and reforms in the educational system.
