Digital Audit Leads to Champat Rai’s Resignation from Ram Temple Trust

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust has made significant changes in its leadership as it accepted the resignations of its General Secretary, Champat Rai, and trustee Anil Mishra. These resignations come amid ongoing investigations into allegations of embezzlement involving donations meant for the Ram Mandir. Trust treasurer Govind Giri confirmed that the resignations were accepted in line with the trust’s constitutional guidelines. During his announcement, Giri also highlighted the valuable contributions Champat Rai has made to the organization since it began.

The allegations revolve around irregularities in the handling of donations intended for the temple, prompting a serious response from within the trust. Senior member Pankaj Jaiswal expressed deep disappointment over the situation, calling it both painful and shameful. He emphasized that any misappropriation of funds contributed by devotees is entirely unacceptable. This sentiment reflects the trust’s commitment to maintaining integrity and accountability in managing the sacred donations.

In the wake of these developments, Krisha Mohan has been appointed as the interim General Secretary, while Govind Giri will continue to serve as the treasurer. The trust is scheduled to convene again on July 22, by which time it is anticipated that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) will present its final report on the matter. Giri stressed the trust’s stance on the issue, stating firmly that no individual found guilty of wrongdoing will be shielded, regardless of their position within the organization. Legal action will be pursued against all accused parties to uphold justice.

As the investigation continues, eight individuals have been apprehended in connection with the alleged misappropriation of donations. The trust remains committed to uncovering the truth and ensuring that justice is served, reinforcing the importance of transparency and accountability in managing the contributions entrusted to them by devotees. The outcome of the ongoing investigation will be crucial in determining the trust’s next steps as it seeks to resolve this challenging situation.
